Growing up in his native Netherlands, Albert was always interested in all things technical, scientific and artistic, particularly photography. After graduating Technical University of Amsterdam with an electronic engineering degree and serving a mandatory two-year stint in the Dutch Army, Albert began working at Philips Medical Systems in the Netherlands as an X-ray engineer. Taking trips gave him marvelous opportunities to take interesting pictures. "I combined my love for X-ray technology and my love for photography and started creating my X-ray photography. These X-Rayography images possess a certain mysteriousness and unusual beauty". Albert derives a certain pleasure from being one of a handful of self-taught pioneers. He has roughly 2,000 X-ray negatives of flowers, leaves, plants, seashells, and small animals.
